For the combined Europeans of the men in the 49er, the women in the 49erFX and the mixed teams in the Nacra17 took place from 27. July until 4. August. The Nacra17 presented itself for the first time as a full-foiler in an international competition.

The event, from 30 July to 7 August 2016, was open to male sailors in Laser Standard and female sailors in Laser Radial under 21 respectively and to sailors under 18 in Laser 4.7.

Within the Kieler Woche 2016 the J/70 hold their European Championship. In less than 48 months the J/70 worldwide fleet is over 1,300 boats strong, attracting some of the most talented sailors in the world and helping to spark growth of numerous sailing leagues across Europe.

The  470 Junior World Championships took part in the Kieler Woche 2016. The international youth inspired with high professional sailing and exciting races.

From 11 to 18 July 2015, the Olympic Marina in Kiel-Schilksee hosted the World Championship of the F18 class. On top of high-class racing, sailors and visitors were able to enjoy an extensive shore programme and good infrastructure with short ways.

In summer 2015, the J/80 class hold their world championship in Kiel. The sailors of this dynamic sportive one-design class were racing for their world champion title on the renowned courses on Kiel Fjord. It was the second time that this big international sailing event was held on the Olympic courses off Kiel-Schilksee.

A real highlight not just for the fans of dinghy sailing took place in Kiel during nine days in August 2014: The world’s best 505er sailors determined their world champions off Kiel-Schilksee.

From 2nd to 9th August 2014, the Olympic Marina in Kiel-Schilksee hosted the worlds` largest World Championships of the offshore yachts (ORC Classes) so far.
